Pabna Medical College is a leading government medical college in Bangladesh .It is located in Pabna city known as the new education city of Rajshahi Division of Bangladesh. It was established in 2008 next to Pabna Mental Hospital. It conducts an MBBS course of 5 years duration. As per the announcement of establishment of new medical college by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 22-09-2008 Pabna Medical College was administratively started in the auditorium behind Pabna Mental Hospital and another room adjacent to it and after the admission of the first batch on 18-11-2008 their academic activities started at the same place. The following year, construction of its new building on 30 acres of land opposite the mental hospital began. In 2014, the construction of the 6-storey administrative building was completed. We are still waiting for the establishment of our much desired 500 bed Medical College Hospital. Pabna Medical College admits 70 students every year. As the Medical College Hospital has not yet been established, the 250-bedded General Hospital, Pabna is running as a Medical College Hospital. The Medical College has a Boys Hostel and a Girls Hostel. Apart from studies, sports and cultural activities of the students are also strongly encouraged. We follow strict rules and regulations. Ragging, bullying and any kind of harassing activities are strictly suppressed. We are not only making good doctors, this medical college is a maker of good people. Despite many structural weaknesses, mutual trust, faith and cooperation between teachers and students has made this medical college a unique medical institution in Bangladesh.
