Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital
Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC), commonly known as Mitford, is a public medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 1875, it is the oldest medical school in Bangladesh.It includes Mitford Hospital, which is the oldest hospital in the country and one of the earliest hospitals in the Indian subcontinent from where evolution of medical education started in the region.
The medical college was established to promote medical education in East Bengal and to provide better healthcare services to the people. It has been producing quality physicians, eminent researchers and health policy makers who are currently working in different medical sectors at home and abroad.

Quiz Competition – SSMC Departments
The SSMC Departmental Quiz Competition is an academic initiative designed to enhance medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and teamwork among students and professionals of Sir Salimullah Medical College.
This competition will include quiz rounds based on core subjects, clinical cases, image-based questions, recent medical guidelines, and practical decision-making, covering the respective departments of SSMC.
The event aims to:
Encourage active learning and healthy academic competition
Improve clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills
Promote inter-departmental collaboration
Enhance confidence in evidence-based medical practice
Participants will compete in a structured, time-bound format under the supervision of experienced faculty members. Certificates and awards will be provided to recognize excellence and participation.
